Welcome to the art course, where you will discover how participating in art classes with like minded people, you can take the first steps to understanding how pastels work and how to achieve amazing rusults that you will be really proud of.
Each course is taken over an 8 or 12 week period and held at my home in the village of Tiptree Essex. I offer the option of a Wednesday or Thursday class which is held every 2 weeks where my aim is to help students gain an understanding of pastels and pastel techniques from my 25 years of experience.
My promise is to take you beyond your expectations…but please don’t just take my word for it, check out the testimonials received from the last course!

Each session will have a theme to work to with optional homework set to enhance your learning.
What your course will cover...
• Still life set ups with composition, contour, tones and shape.
• An introduction to colour, contrasting colours and underlying colours.
• Reflections and light.
• Preparation of your personal portrait/study with soft chalk pastel pencils.
• Introducing soft chalk pastels, mixing colour on colour and full depth colour.
• Finalising, attention to detail and bringing your portrait to life.
£330 for all 6 sessions + your free gifts worth nearly £40!
The full cost of the course is just £330 with an easy payment option of 3 post dated cheques of £100 per month. A deposit of £30 is required when booking to secure your place. The first £100 cheque is payable on the first day once you are totally happy with me as a teacher, the class you will be working with and the contents of the course.

Mini Portrait Courses

Its your portrait...you choose the subject!
Would you like to achieve results like these...let me show you how!
Over 3 sessions, you can take your pastels to a different level. If you've always wanted to work on your own project of a family member, one of your pets or a favourite landscape scene, then now's your chance to do so.
It will take all of the 3 sessions to complete, but you will have a fantastic portrait created under the help and guidance of my tuition.
Please take a look again at the testimonials and project work by last terms students. Yes, it is all their own pastel work and they were mostly beginners.
All materials are supplied, a full lunch is included and expert tuition is always at hand so that you really enjoy the whole experience of working with pastels.

Doors open at 9.45 for a cuppa and a prompt 10am start.
