Alison Burchert Portraits in Pastels

I joined the class as a complete novice. I only intended to do a single class to see what it was like. Straight away I was made to feel comfortable and there was a wide range of abilities and characters. The atmosphere was relaxed and the day flew by so quickly we were all surprised when it was time to go.
When I arrived home after the 1st class my husband was so impressed he offered to pay for the rest of the course for my birthday present.
Alison is such a good teacher she makes everything seem so easy and makes me wish I had had the same encouragement at school.
For my project I chose a picture of my sister in law for my brother's birthday. I was so excited at the result. Everyone loved it and thought I had paid Alison to do it. Praise indeed.
I am looking forward to another course with Alison in the near future.

It was great fun! The progression through the 3 introductory lessons was carefully planned, getting more complex at each stage.

I really liked the reflections in teh kettle. When we tackled our final pictures, Alison was most encouraging and gave us careful instructions to overcome our failings or lack of courage. The whole atmosphere was sociable and supportive, we were all amazed and delighted with the results. I would certainly consider another session.

Since retiring, I have been attending various Art Classes covering many mediums. After seeing Alison's pastel paintings, I was bowled over by her exhibits and joined her 6 week course as soon as I could. After 3 weeks of intensive pastel disciplines, followed by 3 weeks on my own project, I produced an unbelievable result.
