Terms and Conditions All prices quoted are inclusive of VAT at the current rate of 17.5%. All portrait prices are for artwork only, any framing, postage and packing or travelling to the customer's house will be charged as extra unless alternative arrangements have been discussed prior to the completion of an order. Full payment is required upon receipt of any order of prints which will be supplied fully framed. Prices for prints are inclusive of a quality mahogany frame with gold inset. Alternative framing must be pre-arranged by telephone at the time of ordering. Any photographic images taken prior to any portrait order remain the copyright of Alison Burchert. All photographic images received by Alison Burchert will be returned to the customer once a portrait order has been finished. Procedure The procedure for obtaining a Portrait in Pastels is usually initiated by a consultation where methods and techniques are discussed. Working from photographs, the customer will usually have a favourite photo that they would like to have portrayed in pastels. If the customer doesn't have a photograph of their own then it can be arranged to either travel to the customer's house or they could come to the house and have a digital photo session. The images taken would then be transferred to a laptop where a suitable picture would be chosen to start the process of the painting. Once satisfied with all aspects of the initial stage, the portrait would begin. Upon completion, and framing having been discussed, the portrait would be delivered in person depending on locality or personally collected. The time taken on each portrait will depend on each individual request. It is recommended that commissions needed for Christmas to be ordered as soon as possible. If a special date for a commission is needed, it will be worked with the customer to meet that need. Pricing is based on the number of subjects within the portrait, how much of the figure can be seen, background detail and of course the overall size. Framing, travel expenses and crating/shipping costs are additional. Fifty percent of the portrait fee is due when the photographs are taken, with the balance due upon satisfactory delivery of the portrait(s). Delivery and Carriage All orders will be packed securely and dispatched within 7 days of receipt of payment. It is our aim to deliver within this time but cannot be held responsible for any actions by Royal mail which may result in delay of delivery. You can telephone 01621 819272 to trace any order if you have not received anything within 10 days of placing your order. Courier and packing charges are set by Royal mail and apply to any single framed print being sent out by this method. Arrangements can be made by telephone for discounts on multiple orders via courier, personal collections or in some cases, personal delivery. For orders outside of the UK, please telephone or email and all charges will be agreed upon before any order is undertaken. Payments When the correct system has been set up, payments for framed prints can be made by Pay-pal within a secure server. Until this method used, payments can be made by posting a cheque for the full amount along with the printed order form. When a portrait order is taken, the customer is required to pay 50% of the total order, with the remaining balance payable upon delivery of the finished portrait. Returns Due to the nature of commissioned portraits, any work undertaken will have gone through a process of understanding the style in which Alison Burchert works with pastels. Every effort will be made to ensure that the reproduction of any photograph will be to the highest quality and ability that Alison Burchert can offer to maintain her achieved reputation as a portrait artist. Therefore, any amendments to any portrait order that the customer wishes to make will be at the discretion of Alison Burchert. Framed prints must be returned at the cost of the customer in a condition for re-sale for a full refund minus P & P. Any damages made during transit is the responsibility of the customer not to accept the order, the courier will return them to the dispatch office. Portraits and framed prints should always be hung with suitable fixings. If for any reason you are not happy with any part of your order, please notify Alison Burchert within 72 hours.
