Art Sculptures
Octopus Ahoy 2021
Octopus Ahoy is an art trail surrounding North Essex. It was initially designed for the Mayflower 400th anniversary in 2020 but as covid19 took over, the project was postponed for a year. I have been honoured to paint 5 large sculptures, commissioned by local businesses. These are now located around Essex and part of the summer art trail. The app which gives all of the locations can be downloaded to your phone through Octopus Ahoy. As an art tutor, I decided to sponsor my own small octopus sculpture to highlight my art classes in Tiptree.

Artist in Residence at Colchester Zoo
Whilst being artist in residence at the prestigious Colchester Zoo, I was lucky enough to be a part of their 50th anniversary celebrations in 2013! This gave me the opportunity of painting two of the 2m giraffe sculptures. The first one I painted was set up in Tindalls art shop in Trinity street Colchester. This took 3 weeks to complete and was named 'Womb with a View'.
The second one I had delivered to my home in Tiptree as I was only given a week to do it in. She was called 'Big Catrina' and raised a whopping £9,000 at auction. The highest bid for any of the giraffes submitted. A very proud moment!
